Illustration for Yale Alumni magazine. The guts made an appearance in the May/June 2006 issue of the Yale Alumni magazine. I guess these guys saw some of my drawings and thought it would be a good fit for this article on some new research that suggests leanring might be easier on an empty stomach. This comes as nothing new to those of us who crash after eating a heavy meal, but it's sad news to those of us who love food.

I Heart Guts! T-shirt and accessories line. For some reason I just started thinking about happy little guts and these guys showed up in my sketchbook. So I've started a small line of junk featuring these little friends with goofy phrases in English and Japanese ("I'm a Liver Not a Fighter" translates to "I live without fighting -- you should do the same." and "Iron Lung" translates to "Absolutely! I am a lung!")

T-shirt desgins for Yum Pop. Tens of thousands of these Yum Pop tees sold at Target, Delia's, and Miller's Outpost back in 2000. Some of the artwork was published in Pictoplasma, an anthology of contemporary character design. These designs were a collaboration between the ultra-talented Noel Tolentino and myself. The drawings were inspired by super-simple Japanese pop art, using minimum lines, candy colors and ridiculous phrases. The work was presented in four series: breakfast, fruits and veggies, sushi and sports.
Editorial Emergency ad for Velvet Hammer burlesque program. Los Angeles-based editorial services firm Editorial Emergency wanted to do some strategic advertising, and what works better than flashing your logo before a bevy of naked ladies?
When Roaches Rule the World. It could happen, someday. Created in New York, January 2003.

Girdles, Girldes, Girdles! I am obsessed with girdles. So I drew one. January 2003.
Homeland Security Cocktail Recipes. The frequency of Orange Alerts in post-9/11 New York were unnerving, to say the least. I soon discovered that anthrax warnings were best followed by a stiff drink. November 2001.
World Trade Matchbook. I made this shortly after the Twin Towers fell. RIP. Created in Brookyln, NY, September 2001.
Happy States of America. After the last election, I didn't want to hear about red states or blue states, I just wanted to hear about the United States. Fat chance, right? So I drew these little fellows with help from my man, who is a huge geography geek, so they're simple, but pretty accurate, too. I envisioned these as emblazoned on panties, and the line would be called "United States of Underwear." Created in Los Angeles, November 2004.
